Makerspace- Bottle lids
This week we were given a problem to solve. Bottle lids are too small to fit the recycling machines so they have to go into the red rubbish bins. Our challenge was to design and create a solution to this problem.
First, we brainstormed as many solutions as we could think of.
Next, we choose our best idea and made a plan including what we would do and what materials we would need.
After that, we built our solutions and tested them out. Some of us created art with the bottle lids, some of us built keyboards and MacKenzie made a game using the bottle lids. Finally, we reflected on how our creations solved the problem and thought about how we could improve them.

The Amazing Bubble Science Experiment
Today Room 15 raced up to the hall. Emma lit the bubbles on her hand on fire. She asked Abdullahi to help her make small and big bubbles. Next we listened to Emma as she asked if we could make different shapes but we could not. In the end Emma lit the balloons on fire and one lit on fire. It looked like a fireball! The fireball went boom bang when she was lighting it!

Lava races
Today Room 15 watched videos of different types of lava. We noticed that some lava moves very quickly and some moves very slowly.
Then we used golden syrup, oil, water and dishwashing liquid to have lava races! We made predictions and then observed whether our predictions came true. The fastest were oil and water. The slowest were golden syrup and dishwashing liquid.
