Visit to Hukanui Marae
The whole school visited Whaea Robyn's marae. We were welcomed on with a pouwhiri, then we went inside the wharenui and listened to stories of the people of the marae. After morning tea, we did some sketching. The Koruru looked a bit funny with its big eyes and three little teeth. We finished the visit with our Kapa Haka group performing. They were amazing! Please visit the Hamilton East School page on facebook if you would like to see more photos of our visit.
